At Austin's Pride & Joy, we introduce children to Spanish and facilitate their acquisition of the language through dual language instruction in a small class setting which allows increased interaction between children and teachers.
Through our program we teach the importance of nature, encourage eco-consciousness and promote healthy lifestyles by offering organic meals, gardening and kids' yoga, for starters.
APJ's educators strive to ensure our young students enter the elementary school setting with a foundation of positive characteristics, such as proper manners, good listening skills, responsibility and organization, compassion and respect. Our children are taught open-mindedness and to embrace diversity, something Austin is well known for.

Expansion is still underway! After a months-long wait, the Hancock Neighborhood Association has agreed to endorse our application with the City of Austin for a special permit to expand from a Registered Home to a Licensed Center. As this process can take several months, we have applied to become a Licensed Home to accommodate six more children while we work our way to 24. We expect to be licensed and operating for 12 by the end of 2012.
Regardless of our title, Pride & Joy operates as if we were a Licensed Center: Our busy schedule, Spanish curriculum, solid structure and organic menu remain in place and operational policies are enforced and conducted in compliance with City and State standards. Basically, we continue to offer everything that sets P & J apart from the rest, but in a smaller package!
We will update our site with further developments but are happy to answer any questions you may have. You may contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
We appreciate the support we have received from many parents, family, friends and community members in our mission to change the world one little Austinite at a time.
